Production Strix Enters Prototype Phase
Share
In early March, we ordered the prototypes from Bestech for the 2025 production run of the Strix! So this little update is just to share some info on what we’re doing and when they’ll be available.
We’ve narrowed it down to three styles: a micro-milled version available with an S90V or Damasteel blade; a skeletonized version available with S90V or Futuron Forge Windy Ladder damascus, and a bolster lock version that comes in green or black micarta, available with S90V or Damasteel.
Lefty versions of all three styles will be available with an S90V blade only, in limited color options. Trust us, we want to offer more variety to you lefties, but unfortunately those pesky MOQs (minimum order quantities) limit our options.
There will be add-on goodies like extra scales for the bolster locks in multiple variants of ZircuTi, mokume gane, crystallized Ti, and fat carbon. We’ll also have zircuTi kits, crystallized Ti kits, anodized, black, and bead blast kits. The kits will also fit previous of the production Strix.
We expect to have the prototypes back in about two months. We’ll open the pre-order once we’ve had a chance to handle, photograph, & give feedback on them; should be in May or early June. It will stay open for a week, same as previous runs. The timing MIGHT work out to where the pre-order is open during Blade Show Atlanta. That’s not a guarantee, but it is a possibility! We’ll have the prototypes at our table regardless, for you to check out if you’re at the show.
Turnaround on the pre-order will be roughly six months. December 2025 is a ROUGH estimate for delivery. We will keep y’all informed of any updates as we receive them.
Pre-ordering gets you a discount off MSRP. The preorder price for all versions with an S90V blade ranges from $345 to $380; $620 to $635 for the Damasteel versions, and $915 for the Futuron Forge ladder damascus skeletonized version with ZircuTi pre installed. Kits will run from $65 to $250, and scales will run from $120 to $250 depending on material. After Pay is available as a payment method.
I know pre-orders suck, I mean who in 2025 wants to pay up front and then wait six months for something?! But alas, it is the only way a tiny business like Sparrow Knife Co. can get our designs into the hands of many, and it also ensures that you get the exact setup you want because drop numbers will be limited. We think, and we hope you’ll agree, that they’re worth the wait!
